Pastor Calvin L. Parker was born in Greenville North Carolina to the late Daniel Jason Parker
and Naomi Best Parker. He was reared in the West part of Greenville and as a young child
he loved the Boys Club and sports. While matriculating through the Pitt County School System
Pastor Parker excelled in what he like best, baseball. It was in 1975 when the city of Greenville
Knew Who he was after a series of No-Hitters put him in the papers and on the map. But it
Pastor Parker who would later testify that the only reason he could play at the level he played
Was because of God. He was 12 when he one Friday night while sitting on the back row at church
Bishop Wells said, whatever you ask God tonight he would do it. Unbeknownst to anyone else. He
Ask to be the best baseball player he could be. And in turn he told God if he did, he would always
stay in the church. From that time on you found him in two places the church and the ball field.
After Graduating from Rose High School in 1978, Pastor Parker would further his education at
Winston Salem State University. After leaving Winston- Salem State University, Pastor Parker
Would find himself in Raleigh N. C. where he hoped to attend North Carolina State University as a
Transfer student. That dream would be realized years down the road when Pastor Parker would
Become a student and future graduate of NC State with a degree in the Non-Profit Management.
That road also put him at Duke University for the summer of 2014, with the goal of getting his
MPA.
Currently Pastor Parker volunteers with the N.C. State University W.I.T.H. Program, where he mentors and helps the football program. Pastor Parker is also a member of C.O.N.S at N.S.C.U, Community of Non-Profit Society. Also, he is a member on the Philanthropic Journal at N.C.S.U. since 2011. He can be actively seen supporting the Wolfpack and is a member of the Wolfpack Club. In November 2011, Pastor Parker was honored at half time of a Wolfpack basketball game for his community service and support.
Pastor Parker is currently a member of the Institute for Nonprofits and Community of Nonprofit Scholars at NC State University. Pastor Parker was saved at an early age in 1973. Under the leadership of the late Bishop Wyoming Wells, having an unction from the Lord to preach the gospel, Pastor Parker received the baptism of the Holy Ghost on May 22, 1995 at 12:23 in the morning. In 2002, Pastor Parker founded Last Days Harvest Church of God in Christ. Bishop Leroy Jackson Woolard, Jurisdictional Prelate of Greater North Carolina, ordained him Pastor in February 2002.
An avid fan of ministry, Pastor Parker believes that if God has gifted you--whether male or female, that your gift is needed in the local church. He encourages all to do more than just occupy a seat, but to get involved in ministry! Under Pastor Parker, P.E.A.C.E Married Couples Ministry is setting the standard in a world where marriage is being challenged every day. Our Women's Department is growing and thriving, Our Youth are happy about their future because of the understanding they get from the word. Pastor Parker loves people and will go anywhere to help fellow pastors or laypersons in need.
Pastor Parker's favorite scripture comes from Psalm 124, "...if it had not been for the Lord who was on my side." Pastor Parker is married to the former Sandra Lee Green for 36 years. a retiree of Vidant Medical Center, then known as PCMH, she is now enjoying life. She now able to support and enjoy ministry and family like she envision. You will find this woman of God actively participating and challenging others to love the God and family. They are the proud parents of one daughter, Shetara Parker (21), who is a Senior at Winston-Salem State University. They recently celebrated 36 years of matrimonial bliss, that is love and happiness.
